Adelaide - Perfect for FAOPMA Delegates
Welcome to the 24th Annual FAOPMA Conference in Adelaide

Our Asian region is without question an incredibly exciting place for the future of the Pest Management Industry.

The FAOPMA 2012 conference is a subtle change in the direction of our industry toward understanding a "sustainable future". The key message of this conference is "People, Profits and the Planet", and a balanced program has been developed with expert speakers covering these topics.

Our "People" focus is on training, education and development of staff with some examples of how competency training, codes of practice and traditional training are used in Australia.

"Profit" is covered by informative presentations on new products, methodologies and markets that will enable Pest Managers to be ahead of the competition with the latest in-field advancement.

And finally "The Planet". Specialist key note presentations will be made to encourage us to work together as a global industry to deliver acceptable and sustainable solutions for our industry now and in the future on the most important specific topic facing Pest Management.

An exciting program of after hours events is planned to catch up with old friends or be entertained with new acquaintances and business opportunities.

Adelaide is a pristine multi-cultural city and the perfect host for FAOPMA 2012 with easy direct international access, and convenient for exploring the other great cities and regions of Australia pre or post conference.

We understand, Adelaide is a long way from home for many, but I would warmly invite and encourage you to join us in Adelaide to share the start of something big.

PRE & POST CONFERENCE TOURING IN AND AROUND ADELAIDE

If you would like to see a little bit more of Adelaide and South Australia before or after the conference, the following information will be very useful to you.

KANGAROO ISLAND

Kangaroo Island is Australia’s 3rd largest island after Tasmania and Melville and is 155 km long x 55 km wide.  It is only a 45 minute ferry ride from Cape Jervis, or a 30 minute plane flight from Adelaide.  If you’re short on time you can take a full day coach or personalised 4WD tour and see many of the iconic sights but the best way to see Kangaroo Island is to take a two or 3 day tour or drive yourselves.  You can take your own car, or hire car on the ferry or pick up a hire car on arrival on Kangaroo Island.  There are lots of places to stay too, from hotels/motels, B&B’s, apartments, holiday houses up to the magnificent 6-star Southern Ocean Lodge. Must-see and do’s on Kangaroo Island include Seal Bay, where you can take a guided walk amongst a colony of wild Australian sea-Lions, Flinders Chase National Park, Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch.  The wildlife, Ligurian Bees (KI is a bee sanctuary), the wine, the seafood, the natural produce, the haloumi cheese, the coastal beaches are just another reason why you’d visit Kangaroo Island!  For more information on how to get there, tours and self-drive packages, click here or talk to one of our Kangaroo Island experts by calling SeaLink on 13 13 01 Open 7 days to 7pm Adelaide time.
